If you plan to travel with your pet in the near future, we always recommend being prepared by providing appropriate paperwork, especially if traveling over state and country borders. This also includes acquiring travel certificates if you plan to bring a pet onto an aircraft.
It is important to provide relevant certificates or legal documents as they can protect your pet’s personal health, the safety of other travelers, and the environment of which you are entering. As part of the certification process, we ensure the following items before certifying that a pet is able to receive travel documents:
We suggest notifying or contacting your airline about your travel plans and discuss their policies regarding pets, as many airlines require documentation like a travel certificate to be dated within 10 days of the flight.
We want to note that pets who ride with their owners in the cabin experience less stress than pets who ride in the cargo area. If possible, we suggest requesting your pet to fly with you. If your pet must fly in the cargo area, we suggest to provide them with a crate large enough for movement and plenty of water. Additionally, you should try to avoid flying in extreme hot and cold temperatures, as this will keep them comfortable during the boarding and off-boarding process.
